Default De Vry Barber Supply 9/16ths restore

    Hi!!!

Here is today's entry into the 'restoration' section.

I've had this De Vry for some time, but never got around to messing with it. It's not perfection, but is definately an improvement over what she was. I used recycled scales, cleaned and burnished with #0000 steel wool, hand rubbed with Plast-X and waxed with Turtle wax.

The blade got some light sanding, not enough to remove all the pitting, but the majority of them away from the spine. Plenty of buffing and a good rubbing with Maguire's Chrome polish. It turned out she had some really nice scroll work on the tang and the spine when I finally got to see it. "Crucible Steel" whatever that is, is pretty darn hard steel.

She should hone up nicely now and be ready for the classifieds after a test shave.

Here are some before and after shots. This one took about 8 hours to do.

    Enjoy!!

    M
