    Default S.R. Droescher Near Wedge

This is my first French razor. It is a 5/8 S.R. Droescher near wedge. Stamped SRD France on one side and 42 Severin Paris on the other. Horn scales with bone wedge. There is some bug bites to the scales and some scratches on the blade. It has only been honed on a 1k so far and is waiting to be finished so I can test it out. If only my beard would grow faster. The bevel and hone wear isn't the prettiest, but I didn't want to add anymore hone wear trying to even it out. That is the least of my worries as long as the razor shaves like it is supposed to. After reading some posts about SRD I thought they were all made in Germany. The razor feels heavy for its size, but feels nice in the hand. I didn't have to do much to it except clean some dirt off of it. I thought this razor was interesting since all SRD razors I saw were made in Germany.

That is a nice looking razor & I'm sure a good one.

You guys need to relax on the hone wear, that's just like a wrinkle on a man's face...he still has plenty of life in him & quite a bit of experience behind him.

The hone wear doesn't bother me. I have a few razors that the wear is pretty bad and the bevel isn't even, but they shave beautifully. All that matters to me when it comes to razors is how they shave. If I was a collector that might bother me.

Hone wear bothers...thats cause others told me it would...

I wouldnt worry about it..if that razor lasts you another 50 years...money and time well spent!

That's a fine example of an SRD. I am fond of the smaller razors myself, and have many just like that guy!!!

Glad it was in such good shape, and the hone wear just doesn't look that bad to me.

Pretty razor, in excellent condition... Good Save!!! Enjoy it!
