    I never used polyurethane, but I remember some members using it for finishing scales. Do a search on it, maybe you will find some info on it. I tried to find some locally to try it out, but I never found any.

    Thank you.
    I will just use one of the oils you mentioned.

    This is my first restoration and I want to make sure that I do the right thing by the blade and the scales.

    Clean, simple and Elegant is hard, especially because it looks simple.

    But we know it is not easy...

    There is no place to hide when all you see is form and function framed by workmanship and balance of materials.
