Well good question! I was thinking the wood is maple but I'm not so sure I know. I sourced the wood from my kids old crib (drop side cribs are banned in the states or at least PA.) so it had no other useful purpose. I burned the wood and stained it with a redwood stain, and several coats of CA glue. The DE's heads are from TGN, and the knots are 23mm finest badger or two band I believe they are also called.
