Default John Heiffor in Black Palm

I wrapped this one up tonight. A blade like this is interesting to do with the script. I've made some new tools to allow me to more accurately polish in between the design. And as you can see this one is rather involved and detailed so care was necessary. It seems to have worked pretty well as I'm happy with the results. But I'm sure I'll refine it a bit more.
Since the script deals with the Mid East I decided to use a wood from the region which happened to be Black Palm. It's a strange looking wood which almost looks fake. You can see a sample of the bare wood in the third photo.
I wrapped up the scales, used an old lead wedge and added triple stack washers to finish it off.

Besides the city scape the script reads " Worlds Fair at Constantinople 1895" Although there really wasn't a worlds fair there from what I can gather.... who knows?

    Mycarver,
Do you ever sleep, eat, go to the movie?
I think that you have been kidnapped & locked in a workshop.

mainman,, I happen to like working it. I wish more woods acted like this stuff. Then again, I'm a full time wood worker/carver.
Hiratu,,, No,, I really don't sleep that much. Maybe 5 hrs. at the most. Kidnapped and locked in a workshop? Essentially,, yes,, I have been. I'm self employed and my shop is 10 steps from my home. I rarely have to drive anywhere, and I'm most happy when I'm in my shop playing with something. Either regular work,, or my toys.
And really ,, the razors don't take all that long, and with the volume I tend to work through, I could probably post a razor a day for the next several months. Hope I'm not boring anyone.I'm just having a ball.
