I picked these little beauties up at a local antique shop I've walked past hundreds of times and never noticed.

Sitting having a coffee on the bench for a change and watching the ships and "ooh, I've never noticed that. I wonder".

Chap who owns it is an ex naval officer and we chatted for a while, he collects swords and british military knives/bayonets.

He did me the Genco Henry's xxx and the Harrison Bros & Howson (cutlers to her majesty) for £20 and threw in an old army razor wrap for free. I know the Harrsion blade is victorian because it is stamped VR (Victoria Regina) with a crown between the letters but I have no idea about the Genco.

The blades seem in fairly good order and I'm hoping a polish and clean will do the job. I'll get some pics on once they're cleaned up.

The second photograph is after a quick wipe down with some metal polish and they're already looking better.

I think a bit of time with some emery cloth and the Genco will be ok. The Harrison on the other hand is in need of a bit more TLC. The jimps are quite rust and I'm not sure how i'm going to get the rust off without damaging the metal.

On both the scales are in good order and require and inside and out clean/buff.

Any hints, tips and trade secrets gratefully recieved.
