A fine job Zak, love it, and thanks for the write up!
Great Job! I know you have many, many tedious hours in it and it shows. I am impressed you pinned it up collarless after all that! Love it! :tu
You did a really nice job on that razor. It's always incredible to me when someone brings an old razor back for use after so many years. Let us know how it shaves.
I really like those scales.
I'm glad that you saved
them.

Incredible Razor, Excellent Fix, Spot On Restoration. A Real Looker. :-)
When I first started using a straight, I had bought several ivory scaled razors that always needed tighening at the pivot. After breaking several while attempting to tighten the pivot, there was a long moratorium on using any ivory scaled razors. I finally did learn to tighten them reasonably well. I don't understand why they were all made without collars. would have been so much easier. I need to try your method on some broken ones I have . You got very good results.
I honed this razor up this morning and got a really lovely, smooth shave off it. Need to work on the point a bit, since I noticed late in the process that I needed to roll the pressure over that rounded part near the end of the blade, but even with that it was a joy to use.
Awesome work, I like them scales for sure.
