One hint when restoring razors that have the Black Spider rust or Devil's Spit, I would very much recommend that you put the razor on a 1k stone and set the bevel before you go much farther, and confirm that you can get a clean bevel without any swiss chesse holes in there...
Nothing is worse then doing all the work to find that the razor will never shave... :( Go ahead and ask me how I know this :p
LOL yes I thought that might be an issue and as soon as I had the rust off I did set a bevel. unfortunately I do not have the equipment to take a picture of that but it looks good, solid metal. Now to try and get rid of the rest of the pitting...trying to go slow..
So I have decided to try some Buffalo Horn with white streaks as the scales. I noticed when depinning this razor that there were no spacers. Is this typical?
