Swede's coming down under, posebillity to poke the Swede in Brisbane this Chrismas...

G'day mates!

Me and my daughter's going to Brisbane this X-mas and New Year (and some more) and it would be great to meat up some of you craz.... erh I mean fellow straight razor shavers there, if anyone's up for it ... I could bring some Swedish blades from Eskilstuna and we could arrange a swap meeting, or something like it.

We're house exchanging, so I could house the event in a local garden too ... I haven't been very active here the last year (divorce etc - HEY! Maybe I'll find an Aussie girl :D), but it would be great to see some of you guys anyway and talk shop!!

Id be interested in meeting up. I have a few Swedish razors, but mainly English.

Cheers Andrew, sweet, now we're two :D. I could bring around 50 Swedish blades that hasn't been used for many years (but in good condition though) and I could trade some for local attractions (I allready got a kangeroo scrotum purse though, cheers Carl!)...

That's good news Mikael. Christmas and New Year can be a time of travel for a portion of Aussies - back to home towns and so on for family visits. If you are staying a bit more into the new year I'd suggest you might get more people able to meet up if you try to arrange it then rather than earlier.

We've been talking for a while about a Brisbane catchup / play with some woodworking tools (lathe, scroll saw etc, make some scales and/or brush handles)... Im open to combining them both into a single meetup at my place if anyone is interested. Otherwise more than happy to keep them separate.

Wow, that sounds really nice Andrew! I'm happy with whatever works best, it would be nice to meet some of you guys either way...

As for now: the 10th of January in Sandgate village (is the evening a good idea, or the afternoon or morning (coolest time I guess)).

I talked (well, PMed) with Andrew some and I think we'll move the meet up to his place. It gives more option, is closer to town and the oportunity to drool over his collection :D

Well, it doesn't really matter... I dunno if the heat should/can have any impact on the time, but maybe after lunch, around 1ish... If someone wants to start earlier/later I'm more than open to change the time!

Do you guys want me to bring hard to get blades, for trades, or more regular blades? As for now I'm thinking around 20 razors and a mix, if more people sign up, I'll bring more blades (seems stupied to transport to to many of the same razor around the world, literally).

Okay, I've picked out around 20 blades now and packed them up in a roll. I've cleaned and sanded most and polished them, but not honed any and one or two are NOS (I think, maybe someone has tried/shaved once or twice and then put it away) ... Game on my dear Bruces! :D

How Long are you at Sandgate for Mikael? I'm a 3 minute drive from Sandgate (Probably takes longer to back the car out of the garage than it takes to drive to Sandgate in fact). Might have to catch up in the area for a coffee or something. I'll keep the meet-up at Andrews place on the 10th free if I can, but there's no guarantee that I can make it.
