Anyone Else Get Caught in the Great Brisbane Storm?
I did. Turned up at Central train station around 5:30pm to be greeted by a few thousand (it seemed) fretting passengers locked out of the gates. After around 10 minutes a representative from Queensland Rail came out and told us to disperse and find our own way home, trains were out for the foreseeable future.
That's great for people who live in the city, at least there might be a bus alternative. But my wife and I live on the Sunshine Coast.
So, got an early dinner, caught a bus to Carseldine (never seen bus stations so crowded before). Flagged a taxi from there to Caboolture ($100!!), fluked a railbus to Landsborough.
Got home around 9:30pm. But, at least I got home.
Anyone from Brissy get caught too? Pretty bad storm.
James.
