No! A firearm can be kept in the house only if it is in an approved safe of some kind, and must be kept seperate from the ammuntion. When these laws first came in, there was a marked increase in crimes such as break and enter. In general though, there has been no reduction in crimes where a firearm has been used, suicides haven't dropped, nothing that was said would happen, has happened.
The people in power are now trying to stop the blackmarketing of weapons and weapon parts by bringing in tougher border controls. It won't be long before we need a passport to leave our own state of abode.
You don't live in the wild west, we are the ones who live in a soft form of dictatorship...A Nanny state where the people must be protected from themselves.
Not hard to do in this country as we have two classes of people here, the majority that live in cities, see any form of firearm or knife as an evil murdering tool, and the minority that live in the country and know that guns and knives are tools to be used and respected.
Guess who has the biggest vote! Not that it would matter really, as the politicians do as they please, but the voice of protest is easy to drown out with those odds.
