Default Looking for pin and washers for razor

    Hey all,

I haven't been very active on this forum but have been happily lurking for a while.

I'm hoping someone in Aus would be willing to sell me some pin and washers so I can complete my first razor, I am attending a mini-knife show next Sunday and would like to have it ready so ordering from the US is not an option.

Hopefully it is a success and I can crack on with making more.

My plan is to make a razor with Damascus blade and mokume gane scales (with Ti liners) but I want to get the process down pat first so this one will be 1075 and orange Osage scales.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,
if no one close by can help, try Joan at the Australian Knife Collectors. They are in Tassie and carry razor parts. They may be able to help. I cannot get near a post office this week to send anything. Sorry. Good luck, you have A very tight time frame, especially if you have a day job. Post some pics for us all when done.

Hi Adam, that's a great suggestion. I've had some good dealings with Joan.

A tight schedule is an understatement as I have a number of knives to finish and a LPG forge to complete for someone too!

I'll certainly post a pic once it's finished.

    Cheers

    Matt

News to me. Last I heard they were in W.A. Either way. Them's the best folks to rush something through for Matt I reckon.

Being on the mainland overnight should work. It is worth trying your local radio controlled vehicle shop, it's likely to be pricey, but you will have them there and then.

Couldn't get just pins but got a couple of sets with scales and pins in express post, beggars can't be choosers. Excellent service from Joan as usual and definitely in Tassie.

    Thanks for the help.

There was some discussion in another forum a few months ago, as I recall it was at least a couple of years ago but my memory is not a strong point ; )

Hello it's Joan! And Keith will be around somewhere too I'm sure. G'day Joan and Keith. Good to see you here. I had no idea you had moved over to the classier side of the continent either...And now you're a member of my favourite forum! Even better!
