    Default Hats

It has been a while since we had a serious thread about hats. Traveling and living in a warmer climate this summer I observed more light colored Fedoras than caps.
I’m hoping this is a trend.

A Hat, for the purpose of this thread, is NOT a cap, a six-pence, a beanie or anything knitted. A real hat has a brim all around. E.g. a Fedora, a Bowler, a Cowboy-hat etc.

The first hat I ever bought is a Stetson. I found this one in Seattle in 1987 and it is safe to say it has been in more rain than sun.

Here it is on a trip to Svalbard in 1999. I still have it and it still looks great.

The oldest I have, an old Stetson felt. Used a lot for hiking trips, fishing and the like.

Bought this at a truck stop in Arkansas, afaik. Brilliant driving hat, light and flexible, and with a brim that you can adjust to block the sun from which ever angle it falls.

My "heavy rain" hat, if you get wet in this one, you fell in the river

I also got a flatcap that I use for commuting to work for light rain. Love hats. Had several more, but time flies

How did this guy get banned for this? It was his first post.
Just curious, doesn't seem bad, or has the post been edited?

We don't generally inform why someone is banned, but in this case I'll make an exception.
He was a sneaky spammer. He had other posts with links in them.

I wear two different fedoras during the winter months; one black, and one grey, but only with suits. During the summer I have a panama c-crown fedora that I wear, although, I haven't much this summer. The only interesting thing about this post is that I have an unusually large head.....a 2XL, or a 7 7/8ths, to be exact, and have to special order anything I buy b/c they never carry my size in stores. FYI, I've found a site that gives incredible customer service, a wide array of selection, speedy delivery, and sensible prices. It's villagehatshop.com.

Are you saying "let's find a hat for Carl" isn't serious ?
