United States Marine Corps - 1974 - 2000 26 yrs Active Duty. - Retired SgtMaj.
There were many days that were exceptionally rewarding, many days that weren't so good, and some days where I stood up and asked God to come and get me. Fortunately throughout all of this, I survived and only lost most of my hearing. There are many that I remember who were not so fortunate and they are my true heroes. I miss the spirit of the Marine Corps, just not the bullshit and politics that most of us had to endure!
They need to erect a statue to my wife who stuck with me through the thick and thin. She is the one I admire most!
I thought you might get a kick out of this picture - taken over 40 years ago! Was only 17....

I love that picture! It reminds me of the greatest time of my life! I spent most of my time between 2nd MAW Cherry Point, NC and New River Air station, NC (15 years). The last 10 years that I spent in the Marines wast at the Pentagon in DC. More political than anything.
US ARMY 1983-1986, 1/19 Infantry 25th Division( Air Assault), MOS 11H ( TOW Weapon Crewman) Rank E4 (CPL) squad leader. deployments to Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand. I can forget half my life but those few years I remember like it was yesterday.
