Minnie, my heart and soul

Seventeen and a half years ago I held a little half Siamese, half Norweigan Forest Cat, in the palm of my hand, just barely born and cleaned by her mother and I knew that she was definitely the one of a litter of six that would be staying with me (as it turned out so did her half brother, Prince, who went before her several years ago. An hour ago I said goodbye to my Minnie, as the family vet finished administering the drugs. She not only had inherited the Siamese look but also the voice. Her full name was Minnie Mouth, a verbal, constantly commentating raucous cat that let me know the lay of the land and what she thought of everything. As I told the vet, I will miss the noise. I felt the breath leave her and knew that the Universe was welcoming her back with open arms and that she would have a chance to be with her mother again. I celebrate her being and can only remember the good parts and not her decline and demise. Where would we be without our animals?

So sorry to hear that. Losing a loved companion after that long is very hard. Maybe another feline will cross your path and give love and get your affection, even though Minnie is irreplaceable.

Sorry about the passing of you friend. It is hard. I recently went thru the same thing. You cant replace them but another pet will help ease the pain.

I'm so, so sorry, Richard. I had to put my 17 y/o Norwegian Forest Cat down a couple of years ago, after a year of him struggling with kidney failure. I still miss him, although I eventually rescued a 9 year old NFC mix, who is just a little girl. They bring us so much joy and companionship, but it's just so damn hard to lose them. Oh man, I really feel for you Richard. Just this past Monday we lost one of our cats. These things are hard to take and never get easier. I hope you are able to eventually find another little companion to build more pleasant memories with.

Sadly, this is something almost all of us has had to deal with.

The pain and sorrow will eventually pass and will be replaced with precious memories.
