Yup, mine puts out 80 000 BTU’s but it howls when running. And it’s fumes get kinda nasty too, as mine aint a propane unit.
Seeing as how it’s a lil mild again up here I’m hoping one of the 2 marketplace flakes will get back to me so I can get the heater figured out. Like to get the engine washed down before the freeze sets in again too.

Got my shop heater issue resolved. Went with a pair of 125000 BTU nat gas catalytic heaters now so I can still breath in the shop, once it gets cold again next week. Will never need both, but it was a twofer deal.

While still waiting for tranny pin still on order, I’ve pulled the head safely and now have it upside down on the bench with penetrating oil in the valve opening cavity.

Little hack I learned years back where if the oil doesn’t leak through overnight, seats are still good and no Vv job needed.
Looking at my cylinder walls, they too look pretty clean and score free, pistons have a good carbon layer, but are well centered in the cylinders and no extra hot spots to speak of.

Next to drop the pan again, and check out my bottom end but so far, things are looking good. Aside from that rather long bolt sticking into the wet side of the block in the #2 cylinder area. Gonna figure out what that is for, shorten its length and seal it on the rebuild. Fair bit of my oil leaks on the driveway could have started here for all I know at this point.

As expected, or suspected based on the compression test, #1 cylinder has a leak around the intake port.

Far right side, oil leaked through on the large Vv, or intake side. Looks like all 4 have some seepage on the same port. And i suppose that is normal over time.
Long story short. I’m going to pull the Vv’s next and see if I can clean and lap what i got. Nice bath at work, then an inspection of everything.
If this bad boy is still flat and true, I’m ahead of the game.

No sir. Just pulled it, with tranny as a unit to do the body restoration. Was running pretty well and this is more just cause I wanted to put the 5 spd on her. Opportunity to tighten up the compression a bit and replace seals. Partial rebuild I guess I’d call this.

ha, difference is prolly around 5 k now Tom.
Looks like I have 86-87 mm piston cylinder combo currently as I measure, So about mid range on what’s available for this block. Can go up to 89 mm displacement, if I need to.
Intake Vv’s are cleaning up nicely, and exhaust an are ready to relap.
