    Default Coffee roasting

Anyone else here into roasting their own coffee, from green beans? I have been roasting my own coffee for a little less than a year. I am able to order coffee from around the world at a significant reduction in cost as compared to getting it roasted. I am also able to roast according to my own preferences. I started off roasting on the BBQ grill using cast iron skillets. I now roast using a Behmor 1600+. It's another hobby that can have you going down more rabbit holes.

Actually there are a few of us who do roast our own coffee.

We're a bunch of coffee snobs

Check THIS THREAD it's got a lot of great stuff in it. Not a ton on roasting, but it's in there. Post away and glad to see you jumping in here

Look forward to you adding to the thread there.

The Behmor is a great home roaster. I'll soon be opening a coffee roasting business and have moved up to a commercial Liquid bed roaster.

I'll be posting about it in that thread

Good luck with the roasting business. I hope to get a fluid bed roaster in the future, so I will be looking forward to reading on about your experiences.

I've been roasting my own for about 4 ish years. Like the OP i started on a grill and moved up to the Behmor 1600+. Hopefully the next step up will be a buckey coffee roaster (3-5 pound range). I've wanted to open up a commercial roastery for a bit but have not put any serious thought into it yet.
