I had a 79 F150 shortbed for a few years
9" rear, Dana 44 Front New Process 205 Transfer Case C6 Auto
300 six then changed to 302
33x12.50 Mud tires 6" lift (30" to the rockers)
Man you could go anywhere with that thing, it rode just as well across a plowed field as it did on the road
8 miles per gallon and 11 gallon tank
Sure was fun though :)

There is some but the frame is in surprising good shape. I was expecting a lot of scale but there is very little for a truck of its age. The guy I got it from said it sat for years, so I think that has something to do with it.

I'm getting there with chevys, plus accumulating lots of parts.

I was with my dad when he bought a brand new Chevy 3/4 ton Custom Cab '75 fleetside 4X4 with the four speed, heavy duty brakes and rear suspension, twin fuel tanks and power steering. No Air or power windows.
It had 2 miles on the speedo--yup 2 miles as it had just been dropped off at the dealership.
He paid $5000 plus tax and license for it and I followed him home.
Dad gave it to my youngest brother after he'd bought a new Ford 2X Ranger not long before he passed away 20+ years ago and he's trashed it. :banghead:

I'm a Dodge square body guy, but always good to see ANY square body pickup.
