Many trees are resistant to fire and frequent grass fires don't bother them.
It is when man stopped the "normal" fire cycle that changed the environment.
Of course everything changes and what man does is just part of that......:D
I grew up on the edge of the Midwestern Oak Savanna. Now a days there is so much underbrush etc. in what may be left.
In my opinion so much of the wild fire problems that are occurring recently are the result of man stopping the natural fires and then building their house in the middle of the kindle factory created.
I look at many pictures of the fires in California for example and the houses are burnt but the tree in the front yard is still green?
Getting ready to do Slash burns as I type.
With wood prices through the roof we had about 10 acres logged, now it is time to pile the small stuff and burn it
Cut up the rest for fire wood next winter, I will be burning slash for the next 2 years hehehe
A chipmunk has been getting in my birdfeeder.
I have a solution

Found it today at the Ranch store, going to start in the garden and see what happens, my friend says it seems to have worked at his place
