Thread: Guns that won the west?

I was in my safe here this evening looking for a particular handgun and came across these handguns and this rifle representing a time long ago from the past:

This rifle is a model 94 Winchester, but produced by Sears & Roebuck under the name "Ted Williams Model 100". It was produced in 1971 by Winchester for Sears. chambered in 30/30 Win. (You've seen it before)

The two handguns below the Model 94 are 1873 SAA Colt's produced by (Ubertti)in the 1960's.

The first handgun has a 7" barrel and was mainly used by the Army Calvary back then. Stamped Cimarron Arms out of Houston Texas on the barrel. Shoots a 44/40 caliber.

The other handgun is produced by (Ubertti)in the 1960's too. This handgun has a 5" barrel and was mainly used by civilians as a sidearm. Stamped Navy Arms Co. on the barrel. Shoots a 44/40 caliber as well.

I thought you guys would appreciate these as much as I do! It's all about History!

Nice set, John. Always wanted a .36 & .44 cal. Black powder revolver.

I do like my pietta made 1858 Remington .44 it's a whole lot of fun to shoot. I mean I'm not exactly a sharp shooter with it, but I do enjoy.

Model '92 Winchester in 25-20. Made in about 1920 IIRC.



These are the only 2 Winchesters I have.

The biggest mistakes I made with selling guns

Bought a SSA Colt was made in 1902 that had "Issues" for $200
I fixed the issues and sold it for $1200

Had two sets

Marlin Octagonal barrel 45LC rifle
Ruger Vaquero 45LC pistol

Marlin 44 mag Rifle
S&W Model 29

I sold both sets to friends that had horses that really really wanted them
Yes I made money but the Friend Price I gave them was well below market
Both of them sold the sets for market in less than 1 year

I have one set now

Marlin 1895 Guide Gun 2000 model with the Factory Magna Ports in 45-70
S&W model 25 45LC

I used to have a S & W 625 in .45 ACP before the UK Government decided we should not have handguns. I've still got my Winchester 94AE in .38/.357 which I shoot now and again; It's not old, I bought it used about 25 years ago. We Brits tend to have some fondness for Webley, Lee Enfield and other defunct British brands.

They had a little bit of metal left over from the receiver. So they made it into a straight razor! That is a nice old original Winchester you have there Paul! Is it a shooter?

Yeah, except the rounds are around $3 a pop or a pow if you prefer. In this case it's very little bang for the buck. Or maybe it's a lot of buck for your bang
