Thread: Maybe, there's a world where we won't have to run....

The wife and I are re-thinking our life at the moment. Something less frenetic, somewhere peaceful, a place to escape to and become part of.

We are considering this at the moment. What do you guys think?

PS It has a composting toilet - a bit of an issue for the wife, but fairly easy to convert to a "flushing" unit.

If I could afford it I would not pass it up!

Price seems pretty good for the area...

One of the lads i work with just spent 1.2million buying not too far from there... similar size house but more land... i think.

And... you'd be just up the road from Peters place...

I share your thoughts, James. I've often wondered about just taking it all a pace slower and moving out of the big smoke. We're not ready for that yet, but I find myself daydreaming about it every so often!

That property looks beautiful and serene. The noise of the dawn chorus would make it worthwhile by itself! I say go for it.

As for the dunny, isn't that what the Bush is for?

Yea, I agree. If the dog is included it might be a fair price.

James--if you haven't already done it, DO IT! We "did it" more than 3 years ago and I'm still delightfully happy about getting out of overcrowded, too-much-traffic, high-crime Austin. Yes, the "wonderful" Austin, Texas that everyone thinks is so hip and cool and great.

We're now out in the hill country (right in the middle of Texas, albeit slightly south) and we love it. We're at the dead-end of a 1.4 mile private gravel road so we can't even hear cars.

Nearest neighbors are 1/2 mile away. We have 16 acres but it feels MUCH bigger as we are surrounded by much larger properties, including two big ranches of almost 1,000 acres each. So now I have my own personal shooting area/range that I can go down to anytime I want, and my competition shooting is improving (google IDPA.)

And it's done wonders for my stress level, praise God!

Yeah, dead link unfortunately. It was a beautiful property that ended up going for 100K lower than list price at an auction.... not to us, unfortunately.

We are still intending buy out in that area, but we just need to sell our house first. Bit problematic getting buyers in the current market, but we are patient. This year, hopefully.
