Default "Jopen Koyt" traditional Dutch Gruit bier

Ok, this one is different! The recipe for this beer dates to 1407. This is a spiced beer that uses no hops and uses three different grains to make! the label is brown, red and green with a picture of a man dressed in what appears to be a toga, building a barrel presumably for brewing this particular recipe.
The color is an opaque reddish brown. The smell is strong on cinnamon with a hint of raspberries and blackberries. The taste is similar to the smell. A tad cloying in my opinion! This product comes in a 25 ounce brown glass corked bottle. The alcohol is 8.5% by volume. this beer was brewed at Jopen Brewery, Haarlem, Holland. I don't remember the exact price but it was between 8 and 10 dollars per bottle. I cant find a website for this product.

Just a note: There are some very interesting flavors in this brew that you can pick out and enjoy on their own, but on the whole I find this product to much. If your into very unique brews then you might want to try this, but for me, I am not likely to buy it again!
