Harviestoun Ola Dubh Ale matured in whiskey casks...
This is absolutely the last word in big dark stout like ales!!! The flavor just goes on and on! This Is an ale that was brewed in Scotland at the Harviestoun Brewery. It was aged in oak barrels previously used to mature Highland Parks 16 year old single malt scotch whisky! The bottle is a typical brown glass beer bottle with a plain black label and a white band at the lower part of the label. A blue square breaks the band in two! The color of the ale is as black as night with no moon or stars. The smell is milk chocolate and heavy malt. the taste is chocolate and malt with bitterness towards the end! Very smooth and velvety! there is some hints of other flavors that I can't pinpoint!
The Alcohol by volume is 8%. the bottle holds 11.2 oz. Now, get ready to grab your wallets guys! The cost is $ 9.49 a bottle.
The price is a little to hefty to be a regular drinking beer, although I am certain that if I thought about it I could make up some justification! As a one time deal, you should try this extraordinary product!
