Well, if nothing else, she sure looks happy! She'll be fine. Does she drink lots of water? I've been amazed at how much my girl drinks, hot or cold weather. Sorry to hear about the hot weather, I'm not a fan of the hot. We saw 117 degrees F a couple of days last summer, but with no humidity. Take care and have a fantastic 2014!!
Thanks guys. Yeah, she drinks a bit of water though I wouldn't say it's notable in its volume. She doesn't eat a lot either, never has. You can leave a bowl out and she'll only take what she wants and leave the rest. But she's always loved people food as all dogs do of course.
Anyway, went for a walk this morning with her - got a few looks from the neighbours! They thought I had gotten another dog! lol!
James.
James,
I had a Border Collie Husky mix too, got him as a pup when I was 21 for $40, little fluff ball. He was a very smart dog and a great companion. We experienced a lot together hikes, rides in the car, 1 apartment, 2 houses, several girlfriends, a wife and both my kids. He died 2 years ago and I had him cremated, he'll be buried with me. As I type this I'm getting about half emotional about it, amazing how these animals impact our lives, miss that dog!
Anyway, great mix you have there!
Keep them cool in the summer time, a cheap kids pool with water in it is a great way for them to cool off.
Sasha, my Husky, is blowing her coat. If you've never seen this happen, it's truly a magical thing! I started to brush her out, but had to quit. The North wind is blowing just enough to make a lot of static in the air. The hair that gets brushed out just instantly sticks to my arms, well, and everywhere else. I might try wetting her down a bit. The picture I took is from doing just the middle of her hind leg. You can kinda tell in the picture. I can't have dark clothes.

And that's why my dogs are outside dogs! :) and why I always drive with the aircon on, never windows down lol!
Sort of like opening a bean bag chair. LOL! She's pretty! As far as dark clothes, I just don't care anymore. I figure if you love animals you'll understand and if you don't I really don't care anyways. I never have figured out how the hair can get into a zipped up hanging clothes bag either...
"magical"?!!? I've never encountered that description before! You have my sympathies.
We used to have Malamutes, and the back yard and the air above would be FILLED with fur when they blew coat! We would have several regular size paper shopping bags full of fur...just from raking one dog! It's no wonder that they could tolerate being exposed in the Antarctic cold!
