    Default japanese green tea?

    I was wondering how many green tea drinkers there are here. I have at least 4 (6 oz.) cups of organic japanese green sencha everyday.

    I love the quiet and subtle taste of green tea, I am a big fan of the typical iced tea that is enjoyed in the US, but every now and then green tea cold or hot depending on the season, is a great thing.

    a few years ago I gave up cappuccino. I roasted my own beans, and a pressure espresso machine both at home and in my classroom. Found the caffeine was effecting me.

    I switched to Earl Grey Green Organic, and drink about 40 oz every morning. Bummer today, it's hot. Still drink it anyway.

    I don't know very much about teas, but I do drink both regular and decaf green sencha everyday. I agree with Nun2sharp. The subtle flavor is very pleasing.

    I drink loose leaf tea. It takes a little skill to get it just right but it does taste good when you do. Different areas of japan will give you different tasting sencha too.Type of soil etc..

    I tend towards loose leaf Chinese green tea over Japanese, but that's not to say Japanese is unworthy. If I had to make incredibly broad generalizations that will get me into trouble, the Japanese green teas I've had tend more towards the grassy side, while the Chinese greens tend more towards the vegetative side.

    That said, different cups for different moods. It's all good to me.

    I drink tons of tea. Pretty much after 12pm I switch from coffee. I've got a bad habit of needing to drink something all day, and generally it's something warm. I love Japanese teas, but mostly drink Yerba Mate these days. I'm sure I'll switch it up soon since it's been going on for some time now.

    Mostly drink herbals at night. All kinds of what my wife calls "Hippie Teas".

    I drink about 4-6 16-ounce cups of green tea almost every day. Six months after I started doing this my cholesterol dropped from 205 down to 145. At first, I thought this was a testing fluke but my cholesterol has remained at the same level for over 2 years and it gets tested every three months for other medical reasons.
    I did some research on the internet and while you can't believe everything out there, there are reports that indicate that green tea increases the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor sites within the liver. Since the liver absorbs more LDL and gets rid of it, the ratio of high density lipoproteins (HDLs) to LDLs increases leading to improved overall cholesteral levels and improved good to bad cholesterol ratios. I would have normally have discarded this theory out of hand but it has been working for me for an extended period of time.

    I prefer the chinese teas too. They are more flavorful and have more options. I particularly like jasmine pearl. It has the sweet aroma of jasmine flowers while you drink it. The reason I switched to japanese is my wife. She has read so many strories about pollution in china she got me to change to japanese tea. I am not sure if organic chinese tea can be polluted but she scared me into changing. You guys should try some of RISHI's organic jasmine pearl. It is great. I used to get it at Whole foods supermarket or you can order it online at RISHI's website. They really do have some great organic teas.They are also starting to sell japanese teas as well. Their organic japanese sencha is suprisingly good.It is not as grassy tasting and is almost indestructible when brewing.I mean indestructable by you almost cannot overbrew it.

    I have 4 cups of Genmaicha in the day and one cup of Kukicha at night.
    The Genmai cha has a nice aroma of roasted rice.
    The kukicha is high in Calcium - very relaxing.
