I wondered if anyone here has the "car bug?" Here's my ride, a 1964 Buick Wildcat. It's a pretty rare car, only 366 made in 1964 had the 425 CID engine with two four-barrel Carter AFB carbs. Of the 366, about 250 had ST400 automatics and the rest four speed manuals.

Super Nice Buick,man.I've got the bug too but no cars to show for it.My dream car is the "Smokey and the Bandit" Trans Ams from '77 or '78.Maybe someday.

In my stable 79 Dodge Lil red express , 65 Cuda 273 4 spd , 65 Satelite convertible one of 2200 made.
Also a 55 Dodge 4dr with 7.5 miles and MSO never been titled factory original.
Nice to see some one else with and old car interrest.

Beautiful ride...takes me back to my father's garage! He had an alignment/brake/tune-up shop in Milwaukee, and I spent my high school summers from 1974-78 working with him. Of course, that was when you could open the hood, and have a pretty good idea what may need work, without the sophisticated OBD computers you need now!
Having the car bug is a great hobby, I believe. I'm into a different sub-genre, the Porsche/BMW route. Currently, have a '72 914 2.0 liter, and a 2000 BMW M5...

Beautiful machine there! Mine is somewhat (ok, heaps) Uglier. I posess a broke down '80 IH scout. It was all kinds of fun for a while, but its had to be put up for adoption, I just can't keep her. so sad.

My avatar is a 68 Firebird. It has a stroked 428 with Edelbrock heads, roller cam and rockers, Muncie 4-speed and posi out back.
The bug is addictive but loads of fun.

here are my two latest projects the impala is a 1960 that was parked in a pasture in 1988 and the other i just picked up a couple days ago its a 1974 pontiac grandville one owner all original including the paperwork from the dealer it has been inside for about 15 years put a battery on her and had her running in a couple hours it has a 455 h.o they only made about 7000 of them and the two door is very hard to find and last but not least is my truck
very nice buick and firebird i have a long way to go to get mine in that shape but thats the fun part :D

My uncle is funding, and we are building, a 1951 Ford f1. has a 9" rear end, moser axles, hopped up 429 with a c6 behind it. disc in front, power brakes power steering. already have 98% of parts to finish it, just gotta get more time out there. b&m shifter, tubbed (tubs to be built, everything else setup) with 31 x 12.5" wide hoosiers out back. Classic Instruments gauges, Ron Francis wiring kit. blah, blah, blah.
it's fun, especially all the custom stuff, custom brackets for this and that, rebuilt the bed with steel rather than slats, good time.
I REALLY want to find a 1950 Ford COUPE, the short rear windows, front and back seat deal. My dad had one, I always lvoed it.

About 20 years ago I restored a couple of 1920s Dodge Brothers cars, one a tourer, the other 1921 tourer converted to a buckboard. Drove it for years, good fun going into town to pick up a load of chaff, people would rub their eyes and think time warp!! Certainly do miss them.
I love old American cars. Please oh please if anyone have an old dodge challenger pretty please post pics.
If I recall correctly kilowattkid has a sweet chevy nova ss. But he doesn't post too much unfortunately.

My grandfather and I restored a 1927 Ford Model T about 5 years back. I will take some pictures and post them here later. It was a great time with him. I love taking it into town on a nice cool sunny summer day. Or nice spring days!

I don't have any pics with me, but I've been working on and off on a 1950 23rd Series Packard Eight. This model was known by many as the "Pregnant Elephant," and for good reason. It is rated at seven passengers: three in the front, and four in the back. The back seat looks like a large sofa taken right out of somebody's living room. The trunk is so large that one of my friends crawled inside and closed the lid in order to try to fix the springs. In there with him was enough spare trim for half of the car and a spare grille. Under the hood she's got a 256 cubic inch straight eight and an ultra-matic transmission.
My plans for the car are somewhere between a restoration and a rat-rod conversion, but right now the thing is sitting in the back of my dad's barn.

Awesome! I am in the process of restoring a 1940 Packard 120, also with the straight 8. They are massive cars, and parts are more expensive than usual, but the end result is absolutely worth it.Quote:

Very nice Buick! I consider myself a fan of old cars, but lean more towards earlier stuff. Anything from Stanley Steamers to the ultimate whale of a car, the 1959 Cadillac hearse. I love rat rods, but not street rods. I really can't stand trailer queens, either. If you buy a car, you should drive it. I mean, isn't half the fun of owning some crazy rare or vintage car to be seen driving around in it? Just my two cents. :nj

I'm also a big fan of vintage wheels, being a Ford guy, I've owned several old Ford Trucks (60's stuff). But it will be a whole different situation when I write the great American novel, or win the lottery. My garage will be populated by stuff like this:

Any who, I've got a bit of an odd ball, it's a 1973 Saab 96. It's had a schlew of owners, most of whom neglected it, and the most recent painted it with furniture enamel. But I got it for dirt cheap, and it's a project. It drives great, and you can watch the road go by through the holes in the floor. I'm prepping to make new floors out of sheet metal to put in it (I work in a machine shop/model shop). I want the floors to match the current crease pattern so it's an easier welding project, but they'll probably sit around covered in oil until next summer. Here is the only decent picture I have of it (currently, the wheels are black, but the chrome caps are still chrome).

I have a 1955 Chevy V8 that my wife and I enjoy. I purchased the car in 2006 and am the second owner. I'll post a pic as soon as I get to my NAS at home.

Here's one of my favorites which was sadly sold to finance other passions. Heck of a lot of fun to go cruisin' in! I plan on buying another old Caddy within the next 5 years. Looking for something of mid sixties vintage so I can get the stacked headlights.

I also have a 1964 Ford F250 that my Grandfather purchased new. It's not too pretty and has been a "farm truck" its whole life, but the memories attached to it are very strong and hence I probably won't restore it. It is in great running condition though and get's taken out almost every weekend for a trip to the hardware or home and garden store.
