Default Fresh blackberrys and ice cream

Every year without fail the blackberry bushes along my back property line begin to produce ripe berrys just before the 4th of July.

I've been picking for a bit less than a week and now they are really starting to come on.

Last night I had my first ice cream with fresh berrys. Hard to beat.

Sounds great! They're still a way off over here, but they're on there way.

Still on the strawberries and cream here. Blackberries still green.

    I love strawberries.

Good old blackberries! One of England,s greatest EXPORTS along with rabbits and fox,s.

Is it just in Australia or do these three things take over everything anywhere they were introduced?

I think the rabbits were dumped on us by the Romans first! You did the cane toads to yourselves!

I suppose the good thing is you can at least make blackberry jam or a nice pie, make akubra hats and roast with rabbits, and a little fox hunting passes the time for some folk .
But cane toads totally useless (unless you like to practice cricket) , and my brother inlaw tells me they have now got fire ants as well in Queensland .

No ripe blackberries her yet, have to wait another month or so. Have blueberries though (not the american variety, its a smaller shrub and got smaller berries with stronger taste.), so I eat them with icecream instead!

Can't decide if blue is better then black, but why opt for one when you soon can have both!
