I don't shoot it super fast very often unless it's a competition of some sort or yearly qualifications. It's a fun gun to shoot out at 200 or even 300 yards and see how small a group you can fire. It's a lot of fun shooting slow as well. Sometimes I use the folding iron sights or the red dot.
As far as recoil there isn't a whole lot even when pushing a bullet at 3000FPS.

On yea you have that right. Have you ever seen the slow motion film the Army did showing both guns in auto fire. That AK barrel was bouncing all over the place. In fact it bounces so much that you need to keep an extra foregrip top cover because they crack from flexing.
Lets see Mach 3---closer to Mach 4 since Mach 1 is a bit over 700 MPH at sea level.
I thought the "sonic" line was around 1150fps???
Either way, the bullet gets there before the boom.
(well.....as long as its within 600 yards or so lol)
Do you mind me asking what twist-rate barrel you have?
If you use it for really long range stuff I think you'd do well to try the heaviest bullets you can. Everyone seems to love them in the 22s. I only have a 22-250 with a 1-14" twist...so I'm limited to 55gr tops, and it prefers the 45gr. I've thought more than once about rebarreling to a 1-8".

I love the AR, especially in .458 SOCOM! From the back...
Rock River Arms EOP Varmint 24"- a .223 that shoots .5 moa 10-20 round groups all day long as long as you clean the barrel at about 20 rounds. Almost boring to shoot.

My AR collection is like the tide, usually 3-6. The permanent keepers are the .458 Socom and the RRA 24" EOP. I'm always trading, selling, & buying (as funding permits). Now I need to invent a "quick detach SR" and we will have a complete "utility" rifle!!
That sounds like the same thing I do:-) I'll be keeping this one but yep unless you have tons of money that's about the best way to get something new.
I may not have a ton of money, but I do have a lot of wishful thinking!!!
