New Bottle of Scotch for tonight

If you like some interesting Scotch try Glenmorangie. It may be a bit hard to find but well worth the hunt. The Lansanata is aged in bourbon casks then finished in Spanish Sherry Casks. They have one called the Quinta Ruban that is finished in Portugese Port Pipes, and one of the more interesting ones called Nectar D' Or is finished in Sauterns Barrels. Cheers!!

I tired it last night. If you look at the picture you will see it in front with the Yellow/white label. It was pleasant.

That's a lot of scotch. One I notice isn't there is Jura, I like that and it's quite reasonably priced.

Glenmorangie is my fav. I was drinking some as a found this thred:beer2:

The Nadurra and Balvenie are some nice single malts.

Blends - can't beat Blue Label, IMO.

If you haven't tried it, Suntory Yamazaki makes a really nice single malt. I like the 12 better, but the 18 is a very nice drink as well.

I've recently started to appreciate single malts. I bought a 10-yo Springbank recently on the strength of a past thread here about single malts where Bruno recommended trying unchillfiltered varieties. All Springbank malts are unchillfiltered. I love Scotch whiskey so I like this thread lol.

I used to live not too far from the Glengoyne Distillery, where my brother used to work so we got it cheap, they make some good whiskey, but I have to say I do like a macallan, also a glenmorangie and glen fiddich, one I lie to drink now and then is tallisker, I prefer single malt, but I won't turn my nose up at a nice blend, and for me it has to be tap wwater and only tap water.

For beginners, I'd say try the Auchentoshan - they changed up the names recently but they have an entry level whisky that retails for about $50 CAN (Classic I think?). Its great because it does all the things a nice single malt should do without having any overbearing peculiarity or "trademark" type of flavour. A good jumping off point. I still love it.

Try it neat or over ice. The added water will open up the bouquet and bring the subtleties out. Drink it however you prefer. Sometimes I take ice, sometimes I don't.
