Peterson's Irish Flake is a fine smoke to be sure. All the vitamin N that a growing boy needs for sure. Me? Granger in an 8733 (pre-1938) Kaywoodie Drinkless, followed by an El Cheapo Robusto cigar. I'm off for an afternoon nap, Evan Williams Egg Nog has me a bit foggy.
etom, it was 17 this morning when i drove past the time/temp sign at the bank this morning, so we werent that much different today.
I don't like such temperatures
Regards
Tom
trust me, neither do i, i despise them to be honest, my wife feels if its gonna be this cold there should be snow on the ground. i just cant wait for spring to come around, it wont be to much longer thank goodness.
-10 F ain't that bad. Our national hockey league decided to get nostalgic few years ago and nowadays they play some of their games at the outdoor arenas. That is great, just like it was when i was young and played myself in TPS juniors. Of course all reinforcements from USA and Canada freeze when playing outdoors but those from Finland, Czech, Russia, Sweden, Lithuania and Latvia seem to take it well.
What's best: while watching outdoor game, you can smoke your pipe while doing it.
-10 would just about be completely miserable for me, and i mean that, when it gets in the single didgets i get really cranky, and if i am at work, i get mean, especially when i have to work in temps that are about 10 degrees warmer than outside, and i work inside a building near 2200F copper. the chill gets into my bones and i cant shake it.
well the Chinese churchwarden, and my weber are boxed and ready to go to dave @ WBW. I never mentioned the weber before out of embarrassment, I was working on running a pipe cleaner thru it and as I was taking it apart I accidentally cracked the shank. doh!!! so now dave is getting 2 to work on. that's ok I still have the one I picked up from him, and my churchwarden stem for my cobs

Evening smoke is Old Joe Krantz in an older Kaywoodie. Funny how "comfortable temperature" seems to be so tied to perspective. When I lived in Alaska, -10 degrees was quite a nice day and on more than one occassion I've barbecued at that temperature. Now however, since I'm back home and very spoiled, 40 degrees above is cause to crank up the heat and hunker down for the winter (which normally takes a couple days.)
