Ahoy Pipe Smokers!! I just found this and thought I'd share. I think it comes from the "What the hell" file somewhere. I enjoy a pipe. I enjoy listening to radio. But, for the life of me, and only going by the photo; I can't figure out what role the pipe plays in this. Anyway, just another good wacky photo.

After a hard and swetty week at shipyards the only decent way to start a weekend is with a strong stuff. Smoking some SG Black XX twist from estate Norup of Denmark. Strong beer from Russia.

Watching a lady sparrow lurking at me at the garden. Probably just one of those tame birdies my wife's been feeding through winter, now waiting for some food. No hope, fatso, now it's time to for you to pay back and start eating some flies & mosquitos from our garden.

MacBaren Plumcake in a bent Edward's
Strange tobacco this. Not a favorite by a long shot but I really can't find much wrong with it. It's plenty stout has a bit of a rum like flavor to it (with a bit of latakia). I don't often reach for it but whenever I do it always seems to be enjoyable. I'll generally pick it up, burn it for a couple days and then move on until the next time I'm in the mood for "something totally different". For me, the MacBaren lot just seems kind of plain Jane, a decent reliable smoke but not much WOW! there. Of the lot, I like MacBaren Navy Flake (The Blueberry Beast) the best. One day I'll get around to trying Burley London Blend. As an American, with so much great burley out there, I just can't abide a burley with the name London in it. After all, burley was illegal in the UK until the mid 80's. And besides, burley is America's tobacco. I know it sounds strange but I feel it's almost my patriotic duty to smoke old school American burley's whenever possible. Besides, I am one of the founding members of the American Codger Burley Association.

McB has a huge amount of different blends. Haven't tried them all, probably never will. But of those i've tried, they all seem to have some common nuance, i call it sort of McB-like taste. Not bat at all, just it seems that it easy to recognize McB blends even blindfolded.
I started my pipe smoking with McB Navy Flakes back then. It was the one and only. Nowadays i cannot see why. I still have few sealed tins from 1996. Still smoke it every now and then, it's available everywhere. Feels like a bad guy getting back to the crime scene. It's not bad, probably i just got enough.
