I was on the MM cob today (shhh! Don't tell anyone, but I was going for an easy 20km ride when I decided to light up) with the BK Cherry Cav. It made for a nice roll through some local bushland reserves. :)

I've never smoked cigar through a pipe. That mostly a Burley tobacco then ?
Yeah, mostly burley but burley is pretty much 99.99% of my rotation. Every once in a while I'll pick up something with a burley base and condimental levels of virginia and perigue (i.e. Old Joe Krantz) or in some cases latakia (Billy Budd) but it's all very burley based. Every couple years (whether I need to or not) I'll pick up an English blend (Squadron Leader or Early Morning Pipe) but it never takes me long to get back to my old school burley.
The cut up cigar thing started a couple years back out of curousity more than anything else (other than perhaps my Scottish heritage). When I bought good cigars it bothered me that I'd smoke them down to the butt and throw that much tobacco away. I decided to put the butts in a jar and let them de-funk for a while then try cutting them up and stuffing them into a pipe. It worked like a champ and when I pay $5-6 for a good cigar I"m no kidding making ashes out of the whole thing. Don't tell anyone but I think I prefer smoking them in a pipe over smoking them as cigars. I can usually get at least four or five bowls out of a cigar butt.
Stanwell with 4noggins Chipman Hill. Good latakia blend.
Saturday evening smoke, some Midnight Ride in a Joe Case pipe, along with some Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA, a brewer from San Francisco. This is a very good tobacco. Good evening gents.

p.s. since this is a straight razor site, I will be touching up some straights on a Naniwa 12k tomorrow morning, I have three days of stubble that's gotta go.
