We lost another good one today, one of this country's finest songwriters, and someone I had the pleasure of seeing live many times during my time in Newfoundland, and a few times since then. We all knew he had been ill for quite some time, but it's still a sad bit of news.
Rest in peace Ron, and thank you for the songs.

Today it's Billy Holiday ...
I just heard that Metallica is coming out with a new album in 2016!! In the mean time, my daughter is walking around the house singing Tom Jones.
Nothing wrong with a little Tom Jones.

My son's taste in music leans toward the Metallica 'type' sounds but with more modern bands. However he loves my Black Sabbath Reunion Recordings :shrug:
Now listening to Classical KING FM - Homepage best classical station on line. They've got an excellent Christmas channel this time of year too. King originates in Seattle, Washington. In general I like to listen to Bach, as in J.S. While there are "the likes of" most other musicians, it cannot be said that there are "the likes" of J.S. Bach
Paul Adam & His Mayfair Music - Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens
What am I listening to? Well I am listening to Christmas music, not by choice either. Here at work I guess they start it earlier and earlier every year! I am no Scrooge but it is like Wal Mart putting Christmas trees and decorations up right after Halloween, can we not wait just a bit before we get into that. I like Christmas and the Holidays but I don't like 7 to 8 weeks of Christmas music. Thanks for the rant/vent I imagine this was not the true place for this but I saw the question and needed to get that out. Happy Thanksgiving everyone:D
Yes he does still have a great voice Jamie. Here he is from about 9 years ago on a duet with the Killer--Jerry Lee Lewis;
Once upon a time three young men did a little spur of the moment gig together at Sun Studios. They were Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. They were coined 'The Million Dollar Quartet". Out of the four only Jerry Lee Lewis is 'Left Standing' and that's the name of the CD of the Killer performing Duets with others. It wasn't really 'Who' was there, it's more like Who Wasn't There'.

Here's a little something with a theme that I believe that many of us has at heart (stropping). Pretty cool it's from an actual 45!

This Dr.'s prescription for blowing off some steam after a long day at work, or cranking up some badly needed energy on these short, short (here in the north at least) days. Turn it up to 11 for full effect.

We lost another one today. :( I have a lot of great memories associated with this song, mostly involving nights out with good friends in St John's in the mid-90s. Good times, great song.
