So In keeping with the idea that todays products create a lot of waste and land fill have any of you thought about using tooth powder?

I guess you can also make your own 3 parts baking soada to 1 part salt. Add a little mint oil and you are all set.

My dad used to have a can of this Colgate Toothpowder in the medicine cabinet. I couldn't believe such a thing existed.

You ordered it, but has it come in yet? Have you ever tried tooth powder? it seems to me that it would kinda be unpleasent in your mouth until it all got saturated with your saliva. Kinda like a BC or Goody's powder.

I brushed with baking soda as a child when staying with my grandparents. My grandmother had all her teeth when she died a few years ago in her 80's.Its more salty than than anything. Not bitter like BC powder.

I dont mean salty or bitter, i mean how the powder feels when you put it in your mouth, kinda like sucking on sand.

For some reason I remember having the baking soda and salt around and using it as a kid. Not sure if it was my mom trying to save money or my brother in Boy Scouts. The home made stuff tasted terrible. I am guessing the Eco-Dent stuff wont be much better but it's cheap and you get 200 brushings out of a single 2oz container.

Other stuff thats not bad once you get used to it is powdered milk and I have some Japanese powdered antacid that seems to last forever.

The antacid comes with a little spoon. You just scoop out a dose and drink some water to rinse it down.

I always wet it on the brush first but yes it was gritty

Did you know that the first tooth brush was invented in Maine. Because if it was invented any where else,it would have been called a teeth brush. Just kidding to all you maniacs.

Be careful with ammoniated power. While it will whiten teeth it will also break down the the enamel creating tooth rot in the long term.

There was some story about people, during the days of kings and queens, that used morning **** as a month rinse to whiten their teeth. But then if your teeth were too white everyone knew you were rinsing with ****.
