Default White Castle/Krystal Style Mini-sliders in Deutschland!

Super Bowl Foods: Homemade Krystal / White Castle Hamburgers - National Budget Meals | Examiner.com

So, once you become an ex-pat, it's the simplest, smallest little pleasures of American life that you start to miss the most. For me it's definitely the food. I miss being able to get a crappy patty-melt and a waffle at 2 o' clock in the morning. I miss sports bar style restaurants with chicken wings and 15838420 different kinds of beer. I REALLY miss Hardee's biscuit sandwiches, but for the last few weeks, I've been craving me the hell out of some Krystal burgers.

For those not in the know, Krystal is Southern White Castle (with the farthest southern White Castle, and consequently the only one I've ever eaten at, being only in Nashville). The premise is basically the same. Tiny little steamy, oniony cheeseburgers. I want them. I want them in my face. I want a blanket of them on my bed so I can roll around in it. You get the idea.

So, tonight, I'm trying the recipe in the link. It seems pretty legit.

Also, chili-cheese fries and Pabst Blue Ribbon, for Freedom. Or Democracy. Or something.

I'll take a double dose of cholesterol medication to be safe.

I forgot to take any pictures. There were 24 patties, making enough for a sack-full for me and the little lady. She did not even come close. I ate the rest. I have cleared everything that's not sitting on the commode from tomorrow's schedule.

The Germans don't give a single **** what you bring in here. It's stupidly easy to bring anything INto Europe. Out is a different story. You can't buy a can of Cambell's chicken noodle in America, bring it to Europe, and take it back. Seriously.

When you started with Krystal instead of White Castle, I had suspicions...

When you eluded to Waffle House, I had a strong hunch...

But, when you said Hardee's biscuits, I knew you were either from, or spent a LOT of time in, the south!

I say screw it... we need to ship you a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit from Hardee's, a (genuine) sakful from Krystal & a double order of hashbrowns, scattered, smothered & covered, from Waffle House.
