Thanked: 102My luck is too good and I'm scared
During the last month several things have happend. I have been very fortunate.
To begin with I was needing a new truck. Friend told me about one for sale. I found a 2004 Ford F 150 Lariet, one owner with 24,000 miles, garage kept every day of its life and serviced by the manual. Bought it two thousand under book value. had it check out and my mechanic could find nothing wrong. It still smell like a new vehicle.
Secondly another friend told me about a Colt 1911 .45 automatic, World War I era pistol for sale.
I checked it out and it was an origional Colt in excellent shape. Tight as a drum, had some surface wear and functions perfectly. Bought it for a song.
Thirdly I went "Anntiquing" with the wife, was bored to death, got tired of sitting on the bench and wandered around looking in the display cases. Spotted a Wade & Butcher, big wedge in origional box. Got a good deal.
Lastly my father in law passed away a short time ago and my brother in law inherited his 1963 Internation Harvester Pick up truck, a 1954 Farmall Super A tractor and a 1972 Chevy Nova bought new by my father in law with only 90K miles on it. He called me and ask if I wanted the Nova, I asked "How Much". Free - he gave it to me.
I am tempted to buy some Foster Grant Shades and flag down a Greyhound headed to Vegas but am too chicken. Like the Man said, "Your Luck Can't Hold Out Forever".
