As far as "simply" assembling one. I don't follow the train of thought there. When was the last time any of us heard of any one or any watchmaker turning to his tiny lathe or spring winder or milling thingy to make the cogs and so on to make a watch from scratch.
I say go for it, you maybe asembling it but no more than anyone else, even the big guys buy in all the watch parts to assemble.
It's like I say to my wife when we're shopping, no name beans are just premium beans with their own label to keep the cost down, Loblaws and Safeway do not have a baked bean factory, they buy from one of the few factories and have their own label put on.
