Shot a recurve bow for the first time. Was part of a archery class I took.
Pick a spot and shoot. 7 inch group from 15 yards. Not bad for the first time.

Nice job; looks like your a natural.
Good shooting! Now move your sight up and to the right a bit. :rofl2:
lol actually there was no sight on it....the arrows wouldn't stick in the middle of the target they were too chewed up so i aimed for the white lol still off tho!
Did ya see any of the Olympic archery?? They are shooting 70 meters or 75 yards or so, at a 48" overall target that looks like a thumb tack, and hitting a 4" ten ring ( I could be off on that ) . With Recurves and fingers on the string , but the bows are heavy in weight and about a 48 pound draw .
So no one has written on here in a while.
How is everyone going with the target shooting?
I didn't end up getting my longbow but have an Olympic style recurve on order.
Been taking some lessons and loving it.
Had to do my yearly qualification for my HR-218 carry, last weekend, easy.
Spent a lot of time lately at Bass Pro archery range with our Genesis bow. this February, I'm going to step up a bit, to a hunting caliber compound bow & leave the boy with the Genesis. We have been shooting the bow for about 8 months & I never knew it would be as fun as it is. It's like straight razors, I wish I discovered bows years ago.
Not on the team anymore so I dont get the the range as often as I'd like. I have been working with a new Walther PPS at 7, 10 and 15 meters as much as I can recently. Tiny little thing but it shoots like a dream.
I've been slamming carbon arrows in 3 inch groups from 50 yards from my Compound with a Viper four pin sight on 2-D. I'm happy with that.
