Greetings, Gents,

Long story shortened: I've been a straight shaver since 2008. I posted around these parts a few times here and there, but haven't in quite some years.

Anyway, back around 2010, I bought a Dubl Duck off of the 'bay, at what I thought was an extraordinary price... 50 bucks. Well, it turns out you get what you pay for; the blade had been heated up to the point that it completely lost it's hardness. I think the pictures the seller used showed the blade before it had been ruined, as the blade showed evidence of extreme heating when I received it. Needless to say, it will not hold an edge. Actually, "hold an edge" infers that you could get an edge on it in the first place, which just simply isn't possible. The blade can not be sharpened to the point of removing hair *at all*.

Other than the fact that the metal is soft, the blade itself isn't in too bad of condition. Unfortunately, I didn't protect it very well in the last nine years that it has been stored, and so it has some light rust pitting on it, but a few hours of sanding and a day or two in the vibrator should produce a fairly restored blade.

I've always wanted a Dubl Duck, but simply cannot afford one under current market conditions.

Would anyone here be willing/able to harden it for me? If so, could you PM me a price to have it done?

Thanks in advance,
