This my son. He didn’t even tell me he auditioned or anything. Boy, this was a surprise.
I hope you all will tune in and watch my son. There’s a promotional clip on Facebook at the Forged In Fire page. We are very excited.

I watch when new episodes air on Hulu, so I'm pretty far behind. I know 2 other fellas that have been on, one of them a winner, one a finalist, and I'm under the impression they are under secrecy clause to not say anything to anyone about the show. Good Luck to him (though I realize its already done filming by now) :tu
Yes, he had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Didn’t tell me nothing!
I watch it when the new episodes come out. The wife records them for me. Its the only TV i watch. I will be looking for him. Hope he wins. 10 grand is a nice sum of money.
I dont watch much TV, but when I find this show, I do watch. I hope your boy is 10k richer and he buys you a prize.
I'll be sure to watch! I bet you're excited!
I do not watch TV very often as there is rarely anything good on the networks, even with 100+ cable channels. However, I do occasionally watch some of the Forged in Fire episodes, especially when you can watch in marathon style. I will have to remember to turn it on next Wednesday to see your son.
BTW, it does not look like your son has had a blade anywhere near his face recently, but what does he use to shave his head?
It's a guilty pleasure for both my girlfriend and me. :)
There are plenty of bladesmiths who slag the show off, but I think it's fun. Also, when I talk about having a delamination in a billet of pattern-welded steel, she now knows what I'm talking about, which is welcome.
I do wish the smiths would leave their damn steel in the quench though. Those fireballs might make for good TV, but they sure don't do much for the quality of the heat treatment. :)
I’ll be sure to watch now that I know it’s your son on there! Very cool and exciting.
I watch every show - great tv will watch your
son!!
I watch it, its entertainment for sure.
I've only watched a few episodes, but I have met several winners and contestants at meets, and shows. Some of the people have parlayed their FIF wins into promoting themselves either for their own business, or into positions in the knife industry. In my mind, this is a bigger payoff than the $10,000.
It's not broadcast over here.
They did air Master of Arms, which was great.
That is great your son will be on the show! Hope he did well.
I enjoy the premise of the show, but I dislike the time restrictions they use to add drama. I would rather focus on the craft, but I'm sure that wouldn't help ratings!!
The publicity is definitely the bigger payoff. Even if you lose, you get to show off your work to millions of people.
It's never good when you get your staff stuck! He's not going to live that down! :rofl2:
Well, my son just won tonight’s Forged In Fire. Very proud of my son. Now if he’d only show interest in straight razor making.
Just watched the episode, really cool stuff and great job. Haha maybe we can get him to make some razors for us;)
Here’s the link to tonight’s episode for those who’d like to watch.

I watched the show in the library yesterday. I thought that it was a pretty good challenge. Congrats to the winner!
My wife and I watch every episode. We usually watch the reruns and try to remember who the heck wins!
I just wanted to say how impressed I was with your son’s statement to his competitor at the end. A very graceful winner!! Beast!
