I gotta agree with most of the above statements Randy, that File Razor is very sweet...
But something about the lines on the 3rd one down, that extra large spike really catches my eye even more....

depending on the steel you can go 60-62 Rc with out a pile of trouble

    1075-1095 and W2 O1 and 52100 i see no problems at 61 -62 hardness
cpm3v andncpm154 cm i run all day long for all but the most hard use blades/ knives not razors at Rc of 61-62

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Good stuff! Glad to see you're finally able to get some razors made (seeing you mention it over many months), and be able to show them off.

Nice! I really like the 4th one down. I just like non-mirrored blades that have really nice lines that stand on their own! WOW!

Actually, all the blades are finished the same. The difference is in the pic's. Plus, none are a true mirror. They are just very shiny. The grinding stopped with a 400 grit belt and then I went to a dry white buffing compound. So on this batch of razors there are still fine grinding lines but the blade is very shiny.

One of my goals is to make a razor that the average user can hone and not require a ton of time, lots of experience, or a pile of hones.
The durability of the edge must be balanced against the effort required for edge maintenance.

A number of years ago, Lynn Abrams did a survey of the guys who had stopped posting on the Yahoo SRP site. Of those who had quit using a straight razor the number one reason was the difficulty of honing.
I do not want that to happen with my razors.

Am I going to test the HRC on each blade? No, I am not. The act of honing and shave testing will tell me if the blade is hard enough without being so hard that the average guy will be frustrated and, if it shaves me well. That is the most important test.
Those two will be my tests.

Randy, your new razor's are exquisite. I really can appreciate the effort you put forth on the spine work. I can hardly wait to hear how well they shave. Keep up the great work.

    They're beautifully designed.
    The file-razor really stands out.

I have nothing but admiration for your work.
