While changing oil tonight in my truck I spilled a little oil on a few grinding belts. Not much, one drop each on two and three drops on another. The spots are an inch or less in diameter. Will I start a fire if I use these with all the sparks from grinding? I suppose the backing material on the belts has to be flame proof so even if the oil did burn would it do any damage? I suppose I could just use them for wood.
You might be asking, "How in the hell did he do that changing oil in his truck?" I am going to blame my wife. She makes me make a spot for her in my 3 stall garage for her to park her Jeep in in the winter. I keep telling her that garages are not for street vehicles, they are for toys. Here are a couple of pictures. You might even be able to spot my grinder with the belts hanging on it on the right as you would drive in.
