I've sent many a Straight Razor over the seas (Both the Atlantic and Pacific) and by land to Canada!! I ALWAYS SEND THEM AS (Shaving Supplies)!!!

My mate in the UK listed what he was sending as a 'straight razor' and he ended up having to talk to the postmaster for over 45 minutes to convince him that he wasn't shipping Anything Dangerous!

Try sending a Rolex explorer back to canada,came to me as a repair,New bezel,sent it back with full disclosure,Rolex Watch, repair, $155.00 USD.
Customs nailed the sucker,has been three yrs,the owner still has his watch in limbo,I have been banned from sending anything to Canada until this issue is resolved.

For some things it's the way to go but I'm just starting out. I went with a place which was recommended for a newbie like me. I think it was the right decision. Just bad luck at the border. It will probably arrive...just a number of days later than I had hoped.
