Default Sweeney Todd has come to the region!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! SWEENEY TODD has FINALLY made it to the famed Mishler Theater. If anyone is close to this region of Pennsylvania this would be a great show to see. The legendary Mishler Theater in the central Pennsylvania region of Blair County has decided to have a live performance.

The last time I saw Sweeney Todd, well the last time was actually the first time, it was in Pittsburgh at the Civic Light Opera at the Benedum Theatre. And that was a looooong time ago, back in 1991.

Anyway if anyone is in the region it runs until May 4.

Last night the legendary Mishler was packed. Reportedly there were several out of town limousines scattered about the theater. Sweeney Todd, regardless of the location, draws a crowd. The tale really brings out something in people.

The mixture of comedy and absolute horror make a good cocktail at times. Especially when the comedy and horror are equal. A story of the common fears we all share. And the ever present issue of trust. Which in today's world is something that should not be given easily.

Most of the crowd, Im sure, were not straight razor aficionados. The ones arriving in limos, probably were. Unfortunately I, personally, was unable to actually make it to the show. But I think I will rent the Johnny Depp feature, which I have actually never seen.

Yesterday at a old landmark hotel I spoke to a woman, who was working at the counter of the hotels store, about the feature that was playing in the region. And she commented that her son actually had the movie and that she would probably watch it, as the news of the Mishler performance of Sweeney Todd was widely publicized.

Then briefly we shared thought on other actors that could have played the role of Sweeney Todd other than Depp. We came up with Christopher Walken, John Lithgow, Jim Carrey, and Jeff Goldblum.
