Default The next circle of multi-blade development/hell/evoloution

Interesting article in todays issue of Quartz - What Gillette’s new FlexBall razor and duck genitalia have in common – Quartz

Seems that Gillette is taking a page from the Dyson Ball Vacuum Cleaner...

And in the article is a link to a WSJ story with more detail.

But buried in the story is the idea that the next great disruption in shaving design might be...

    A Single Blade....

We are all just way ahead of the power curve....and on the way from being "Retro" to "Hip".

    So get ready.

Seems like in my case they "techy'd" themselves out of a market
A straight user I will remain until tremors force me to stop.
Then, I still have my double edge.

This is crazy, but soon the other carts will be harder and harder to get, they'll start out making it cheap and easy to buy the whole thing, and BOOM-BOOM, out go the lights, everybody's using one....did I get the Pat Travers song correct??

For a global company, that sounds like a medium to small media launch...wait till they decide Merkur of other DE makers are taking too much of the pie...they've got a whole stable of stuff they could bring back to life and charge huge bucks for....and people would probably buy it.

If I can predict the trend that we have seen in multi-blade cartridges, I will patiently wait for the hilarious debut of next year's model featuring TWO pivot balls! Any bets on what they will call it? Slogan?

Check out the video with cameo appearances from the straight, DE, and injector razors.

This. Bring 'retro DE shaving' into the mainstream, advertised with some shiny, celophane-wrapped but slightly rugged looking celebrities using them and looking all 'retro' and spiritually fulfilled - job done.

Ah, but sharp, buy one now and 20 years from now make a killing on eBay. The noobies of that time will salivate to have the latest in vintage gadgets.

Buy some Mach 3's and just wait - people will likely crawl over a mile of mine-decorated, broken-glass-encrusted and excrement carpeted foulness to experience "How people used to shave back in the good old days".
