Hanging Hair Test video

There is hanging hair test video on youtube. Just search hanging hair test. It is done a lot faster on the video than i have been doing it. Any thoughts?!

I think it was posted by one of the guys on here and in a different thread. I've never been able to pass the HHT with mine or my wife's hair.

I've just today received a TI 4/8 honed by Lynn and, interestingly, I can't pass the HHT on that either. Now I know that the blade, honed by Lynn, is 100% guaranteed shave ready, so what that tells me is:

1. My hair is too fine for the HHT.
2. My wife's hair is too curly (we're talking seriously curly) to pass HHT.
3. Therefore HHT is at best a very subjective test. And to some (like myself), useless in terms of judging an edge.

Shave test for me all the way. As someone posted on another thread, just start shaving with it on the sideburns. If it doesn't feel right (pulling, rolling, snagging, hurting) then stop immediately. And get back to the hones/coticules/pasted strops/whatever.

Of course, there's always the PHHT. And if you shave like RichZ you don't even have to go through the pain of 'harvesting' the hair!

I can't pass it with my hair either. I use the bristle from a cheap boars hair brush. It is much coarser and works well for the test.

if so, i'd agree, short and curlys are much more like facial hair than hair from my head

Amazing victory did not get a bet on unfortunately.

I've heard the phrase 'coach killer' before but never imagined it could happen. Tragic loss...England has produced few good coaches recently and he was one of them.

Here's a new version of the video, I cut the same piece of hair several times in order to get a better sampling. I slowed my hand down too when passing the hair over.
