So, I would like to start a thread about what was your luckiest find or purchase. Maybe you bought something and it turned out to be even better than you thought. I remember a thread on here where a guy grabbed what looked to be a Durham Duplex, but was a W&B inside the box. I hunted long and hard for a Thuri.Buying lots of half baked listings before I got the real deal. One Thuri listing I purchased was an exceptional finisher, but looked nothing like a Thuri. It sparkles like a Zales commercial and my best guess is that I got a French Special Stone for pretty darn cheap. That was my best FTW, serendipitous purchase; what is yours? Maybe you stumbled on a NOS W&B For Barbers Use at a flea market at ten dollars?

I was pretty new to straight razors when I found a Wostenholm pipe razor at an antique mall. The Wostenholm name was not familiar but I recognized the pipe logo from pics on SRP. After asking advice and deliberating I picked it up. I had no clue what good condition it was in until much later.

    Right after I bought it.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It might have been when I bought the Dovo Mammoth on Eboy for $120 or maybe it was the grim reaper on Eboy in great condition which was totally mislabeled for $40.

    Take your pick.
