Thread: My FIRST Gold Dollar!!!

Okay so, to start this (my First) thread off properly; HI 😀...After nearly 20 years of shaving, I just now find a forum dedicated to said event - and boy, am I happy!!!Being 40 years old I may be a bit young to have learned with a straight razor as a young man, but; THAT I DID...I come from a good family who raised me to be frugal in every area that I can.So naturally, when it came time to learn how to shave; The first thing I picked up was a straight razor!!!Around the age of 35 I discovered the Gillette MachIII and made the switch for a couple of years when One morning, out of the blue it hit me ~ "dude, I miss my old razor"...Long story short, I went henceforth back to my razor!!!Anyway, moral of the story ~ browsing the likes of eBay I noticed these "Gold Dollars" and was immediately intrigued .....So I ordered one from KYHS and have to say, "for the money, this is the best razor that I've bought on the cheap in my entire life!!!"...So for the next few weeks I will allow my Bismark to rest while I put my new GD to work in the daily shave routine...As happy as I am with my first shave, I will no doubt be as satisfied if not more after I've adjusted to this new blade ☺️One last thing, I have always honed my own razors, set the bevel and what I find to be that "sweet spot" for me / to final hone and polish; but I have to give a shout out to Lee over at KYHS... He really knows what he's doing and I would trust him with any of my razors!!!Once again, I am so happy to have found this forum of like-minded shavers!!!Cheers
