Thread: Meet-ups -- share yours

I had my first today, meeting here near my home on the Outer Banks with Nipper who was here from Triangle area of NC. We did no work, but just shared a meal, experiences and stories and he showed me some of the items he had brought with him to work on while here. Turns out he had gotten some bargains at an antique shop on the way here, so we got to speak of our experiences, good and bad, shaving and non-shaving, and it was just enjoyable to get together with someone I knew only through posts and a screen name, and meet the gentlemen himself, rather than the electronic one!

I got a lot out of our discussion, not the least of which was that we have traveled some of the same paths on our way to SR shaving, and in life in general.

Great experience, and I thank Joe for his persistence, since we have tried several times before to meet, but I had always had a conflict. I plan on meeting more of you in the future and heartily suggest to beginners that they go out of their way to meet a member or members near you. You'll gain a lot, and it will cost you nothing except your time.

I'd encourage others to share their own meet-up experiences, so that SRP at large can continue to thrive by continuing to become a group that knows each other well, and personally.
