Default NOS wapienica for $35. Good deal?

I almost bought it today but I really don't know the brand so I thought I'd ask you guys first. It looks to be in near mint condition and it's shave ready (passed the HHT for what that's worth). I almost bought it on looks alone, the all stainless steel look is pretty cool. I also like the ugly green plastic case it comes in, which is also pretty much mint. I seem to remember reading "wapi" here and there in the forums and I'm assuming that's what this is, but I can't remember whether the context was favorable or not. So what do you say gents, is it worth $35?

I shaved with a wapi a couple times and it wasn't a bad shave. I am looking into getting one as my travel razor.

Wapi's are great shavers. They usually go for $45.00 + s&h, new.

    Depends on where you look.
If you can get them on ebay they go for 12$ and up.
Lately they have been going for 22$. So 45 seems like alot unless it was honed by a reputed honer.

He is certainly a great guy to deal with, and his stuff is a bargain - but the Wapis don't come shave-ready - far from it.

That may be true, but I have found that Wapis are extremely easy to hone, and should be a good razor to learn to hone on.

I think Kenrup still has some listed on his site. You pay a few $$ more, but it will come shave ready and with no problems, like warped blades.

holli4pirating - that's probably true for most of them. The last one I had was a real pig though - the spine had a bulbous protrusion in the middle on one side that made it rock so it took a lot of honing to flatten it out. They tend to produce a wire edge quite easily too, but once honed they are excellent, in my opinion.

$45 is worth it, but you should be able to find one much cheaper
    I love the wapi
